This Pansy flower is painted wet on wet using oil paint and Zest-it Clear Painting Medium on a dark mount board background.
Cobalt and Ultramarine Blue give the variation of colour to the petals, with Titanium White or Payne's Gray added for highlights and shadows.
Cadmium and Naples Yellow with Titanium White for the characteristic colouring of the main petals.
Careful blending is required to make the petals of the Pansy flower look real and to prevent it from turning 'green'.
The brushes used were a 1/2" One-stroke brush, a mop brush and a Rigger.
