Tole painted Strawberries, using oil paint on a dark blue metal shovel.

tole painted strawberries with oil paint With Strawberries not only do they need to have shape and form but they also need to be 'pick-able'. The tiny seeds are painted with a No. 1 Rigger brush and need to look as if they are attached to the fruit and not 'stuck on'.

The centre of the flowers are raised, this is achieved by the use of three colours. Extra brushes are needed for this painting, two 1/4" One stroke brushes, a 1/8" One-stroke brush, No's 6, 2, 1, Round Sable, a No. 1 and 3 Rigger, also a soft blending brush.
