Tole apples. These apples are painted wet-on-wet with oil paint on a wooden surface. It's about Tonal Values The apples need to look as if you can pick them up. The hardest part of painting rounded objects is the area as it turns away from the light, this takes understanding and skill in blending. Both apples show; body or object colour and highlight; the turned edge and the body or object shadow; the reflected light; the cast shadow and the edge of the cast shadow as it falls onto another surface.
